{"id":21470,"date":"2022-08-23T15:31:25","date_gmt":"2022-08-23T13:31:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/frauenfilmfest.com\/event\/capri-by-night\/"},"modified":"2022-08-23T15:51:16","modified_gmt":"2022-08-23T13:51:16","slug":"capri-by-night","status":"publish","type":"event","link":"https:\/\/frauenfilmfest.com\/en\/event\/capri-by-night\/","title":{"rendered":"Capri by Night"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Capri by Night<\/em> is a permanent video installation, which presents constantly changing perspectives of international video art all year round on a window of <em>Britney<\/em>, the off-site performance area of <em>Schauspiel K\u00f6ln<\/em> on Offenbachplatz.<br \/>\nIn April, a selection of submissions to the PANORAMA section are shown at<em> Capri by Night<\/em> every night from sunset to sunrise: current videos made by women, personal and quirky, radical and independent, complex and diverse in style.<br \/>\nWe start with a straight line against a blank background \u2013 sometimes all it takes to understand life. <strong>Megatrick<\/strong> literally gets quickly and directly to the point, although a few kinks along the way might not be a bad thing. In<strong> A Love Letter To The One I Made Up<\/strong>, expressive prints combine fantasy and reality, while a dreamy, surrealist world morphs into a utopia in<strong> Solar Walk<\/strong>: worlds are destroyed to make way for new things, creations in outer space. <strong>Wasteland No 1<\/strong> obsessively explores images and structures. Circuit boards and computer processors turn into cartographic information, towns from above glimmer against images of poppies in full bloom. <strong>Junkanoo Talk<\/strong> asks who has the authority to speak about a certain culture, examining the cultural codes of colour and gestures in the carnival of the Bahamas. Concepts of adaptation and suitability are unsolved social questions that are also asked in <strong>What Time Is Love?<\/strong>.
